As part of World Cancer Day 2020, institute director Richard Marlink gets right to the point for Rutgers’ 60-second challenge, convincing viewers of the popular video series that they should care about cancer care in the developing world—where cancer mortality rates are staggering.

Just 10 seconds into his appeal, Marlink says: “Rutgers is doing a lot of work with our partners in Botswana, where 75 percent of people that have cancer do not survive, when the majority of those cancers are actually very curable.”

Watch the video to learn more, and consider Marlink’s invitation: “We’d love to have you partner with us because you can make a difference. You can help us save lives.”
