Karen WeiRu Lin, MD, MS, FAAFP, is the faculty advisor for several units within Robert Wood Johnson Medical School that integrate global health: HIPHOP Promise Clinic, a weekly student-run health clinic for underserved populations in New Brunswick; elective courses in medical Mandarin and complementary and alternative medicine elective courses; Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association; International Health Interest Group; and Physicians for Human Rights.

Among her numerous research projects, she received a seed grant from Rutgers Global Health Institute for the Health Passport to Healthy Living program at HIPHOP Promise Clinic.

Lin has served on the medical school’s executive council and admissions, alternative medicine, and multicultural education committees. She integrates acupuncture into her family medicine practice and facilitated the Chinese American Medicine Initiative and Integrative Healing Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
