CUGH Annual Conference
March 7 - March 10
The annual conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health is a must-attend event on the global health calendar. Rutgers Global Health Institute provides an institutional membership for Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Any Rutgers faculty, students, trainees, or staff who are interested in attending the conference should register at the reduced member rate.
This year’s conference theme is Global Health Without Borders: Acting for Impact. Over 2,000 scientists, students and implementers from academia, NGOs, government and the private sector will present, learn and collaborate to address some of the pressing challenges our world faces. A wide range of medical and non-medical disciplines are represented throughout the in-person pre-conference satellite sessions (free to attend, register online) and the March 7-10 conference. Attendees will be inspired and challenged to learn new skills, gain new contacts and find ways we can improve the health of people and the planet.
The conference will be divided into seven subthemes:
- The Social Determinants of Health
- Pandemic Prevention, Covid-19, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Other Communicable Diseases
- Non-Communicable Diseases, Health Systems, Public Health, Primary and Surgical Care
- Planetary Health, One Health, Environmental Health, Climate Change, Biodiversity Crisis, Pollution
- Politics, Governance, Diplomacy, Law, Corruption, Human Rights, Strengthening Public Institutions
- Decolonizing – Reforming Global Health, Equity, Justice, Global Health Education and Research
- Translation and Implementation Science, Bridging Research to Policy, Innovation and Research
