Climate Conversations: Wildfire

August 25, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Climate Communications Initiative, which is co-chaired by Rutgers Global Health Institute core faculty member William Hallman, is hosting a webinar at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, as part of its Climate Conversations: Pathways to Action series.

The “Climate Conversations: Wildfire” event will feature discussion about how to protect human health and the built environment in the face of more frequent and severe wildfires in the U.S. The following is from the event webpage: Climate change is increasing the frequency, severity, and extent of area burned by wildfires in the U.S., putting more people at risk of exposure to fire itself and to smoke, which can travel thousands of miles and affect the health of millions of people. Join us for a conversation about how planners and decision makers are coping with these challenges and working to protect the built environment and human health. Speakers will be announced soon.
