Beyond the Book: Under the Skin

The Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences Anti-Racism Task Force is holding a book club event at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023. The following is from the event description:
Beyond the Book is a book club for members of the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences community to come together and discuss the book Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation by Linda Villarosa.
The book club will meet virtually from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. according to this schedule:
- Monday, September 18: chapters one and two
- Monday, October 16: chapters three and four
- Monday, November 13: chapters five and six
- Monday, December 11: chapter 7 through the afterword
The book may be available in local libraries and is available in print, e-book, and audiobook wherever books are sold. Co-chairs of Beyond the Book are Teri Lassiter, assistant professor and assistant dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the School of Public Health and a core faculty member of Rutgers Global Health Institute, and Patricia Whitley-Williams, professor and senior associate dean of inclusion and diversity at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
