Dr. Chaudhary is Professor of Surgery and the Associate Director of Education and Training at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Dr. Chaudhary’s scientific research background is in transcriptional regulation. Following her PhD research on alpha-amylase gene mapping using trisomics, she undertook postdoctoral training with Dr. Pierre Chambon at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire in Strasbourg, France. She subsequently conducted research in industry and academia in eukaryotic gene regulation. She was recruited from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she served as the Associate Director of the NIH-funded institutional training grant Clinical Scientist Training Program (CSTP, K30 program). She provides strategic leadership for Rutgers Cancer Institute’s education and training mission by developing and overseeing research training programs, educational initiatives, seminars, and conferences; fostering undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate trainee development; advancing collaborative training grant opportunities; integrating cancer-focused content across Rutgers curricula; leading diversity-focused pipeline programs; establishing educational policies; and representing the Cancer Institute in university-wide education and training efforts and partnerships.
