Robert Kopp

Robert Kopp is a climate scientist whose research focuses on past and future sea-level change, interactions between physical climate change and the economy, and the use of climate risk information in decision-making. He is co-director of the university’s Office of Climate Action and a professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.

Kopp also directs the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub, a National Science Foundation-funded, 12-university consortium led by Rutgers, as well as Rutgers’ transdisciplinary Coastal Climate Risk and Resilience Initiative. He is the former director of Rutgers’ Institute of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences.
