Neil Kothari is a professor of medicine at New Jersey Medical School. His clinical area of expertise is inpatient medicine, and he works as an inpatient attending physician at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

Kothari serves as the interim vice chancellor for graduate medical education at Rutgers Health. Under his leadership are over 130 residency and fellowship programs and over 1,600 trainees learning and practicing medicine throughout the state of New Jersey. He is committed to ensuring high quality education for Rutgers’ medical trainees and is intimately involved in working with the university’s medical schools and hospital partners to create robust learning and work environments.

Kothari endorses global health experiences as transformative learning opportunities for residents and fellows and is interested in improving the pipeline to allow residents and fellows to more easily access research projects and clinical training experiences abroad.
