David Alland
Champion in Infectious Disease Solutions
Internationally recognized for breakthroughs in TB and COVID-19 diagnostics, Dr. Alland led development of the Xpert MTB/RIF test used in 130+ countries. His innovations continue to shape global disease detection and treatment.
Lisa Kabnick
Champion in Global Cancer Care & Patient Support
Leader in law, finance, and philanthropy, Lisa advances breast cancer care through her work with Living Beyond Cancer and Breastcancer.org. She is driving Rutgers’ new partnership in Namibia to expand women’s cancer prevention and support.
John McFadden
Champion in Global Cancer Care & Patient Support
Creator of Botswana’s national Kitso AIDS Training Program, John’s scalable models have strengthened care across Southern Africa. He now applies this expertise to expand cancer care and prevention through Rutgers’ partnership in Namibia.
Joachim Sackey
Champion in Healthy Children, Thriving Communities
Born in Ghana and working in Newark, Joachim bridges local and global health through leadership in food insecurity research and Rutgers Health Food Pantry initiatives. His work spans nutrition research in Senegal, HIV-focused resilience studies, and launching Tanzania’s first clinical dietetics program.
Padmini Salgame
Champion in Infectious Disease Solutions
A pioneering immunologist, Dr. Salgame advances global TB research through her work on immune protection, malnutrition, and early diagnostic biomarkers. Her international collaborations and mentorship continue to strengthen scientific capacity across the U.S., India, Brazil, and Uganda.
