Andrew M. Evens, DO, MBA, MSc, is the Deputy Director for Clinical Services and Chief Physician Officer at the Rutgers Cancer Institute and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Innovation and Data Analytics at Rutgers Health, and he is Medical Director of the Oncology Service Line and Oncology Lead for the Combined Medical Group for RWJBarnabas Health. He works to further the mission of the State’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and free-standing cancer hospital, overseeing the clinical enterprise to deliver high-quality and integrated cancer care across 16 acute care hospitals and 40+ associated ambulatory oncology practices throughout New Jersey. He works closely with Rutgers Health and the RWJBarnabas Health system executive teams to advance organizational efficiency, operational effectiveness, strategic and entrepreneurial leadership, new partnerships and external relations, and innovation of provider services. 

Dr. Evens is an international expert in lymphoid malignancies, with research interests in the study of novel therapeutic agents, predictive modeling, and the implementation of personalized medicine. His research has been funded continuously by the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) since 2005. Over the past 20 years, he has been the principal investigator (PI) of >80 prospective cancer clinical trials that have included phase I, II, and III studies, many of which have been multicenter investigator-initiated trials studying novel targeted agents. This has translated to 250+ manuscripts in peer-reviewed publications. He is also the co-founder and co-PI of the NCI-funded international Hodgkin lymphoma global consortium known as HoLISTIC (Hodgkin Lymphoma International STudy for Individual Care: www.hodgkinconsortium.com). 

Nationally, he is a re-elected member and the Chair of the esteemed North American Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) for the Lymphoma Research Foundation; vice chair of the Board of Directors for the ASH Research Council; vice-chair of the Lymphoma Committee for the ECOG-ACRIN NCI research group; co-chair of the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium lymphoma committee; and the editor-in-chief for the British Journal of Haematology. He also helps lead many regional and national educational forums and scientific events and is a member of the organizing and scientific committees of several prominent international academic forums and symposiums.
