Oral Health among Older Adults: Current Status, Challenges, and Potential Solutions

Oral Health photoThe Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research presents a brown-bag lecture by Bei Wu, PhD. Dr. Wu is Dean’s Professor of Global Health in New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing, affiliated professor in NYU’s Ashman Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, and director for research at the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing. Her career in gerontology has been distinguished by interdisciplinary collaborations with researchers in various disciplines especially in nursing and dentistry at many academic institutions and organizations in the U.S. and abroad. She was honored with the 2017 International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Geriatric Oral Research. Dr. Wu and her team have published notable papers on the topics related to oral health disparities in older adults, trends and trajectories of oral health and oral health in relationship to cognitive impairment and diabetes.
