An applied mathematics scholar, Benedetto Piccoli’s research focuses on applying advanced mathematical methods to science, engineering, and health. His areas of expertise include mathematical and computational models, ordinary and partial differential equations, control systems, and measure theoretic approaches. His research interests include control and hybrid systems, social and crowd dynamics, vehicular traffic, network flows, social determinants of health, optimal control for biomedical and biomechanical systems, HIV infections, cancer immuno-therapies, and biological rhythms.
