Angelica Diaz-Martinez

Director of Clinical Training, Clinical Department, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology

Angelica M. Diaz-Martinez is the director of clinical training for the clinical department at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) and is the chairperson of the global health committee for GSAPP. She is working to develop the mental health global initiative at GSAPP, incorporating GSAPP’s mission of direct community involvement and serving underserved populations. She is currently collaborating on the development of global health initiatives in behavioral medicine and behavioral health that incorporate train-the-trainer models, clinical faculty, and doctoral psychology students.

Prior to her appointment at GSAPP, Diaz-Martinez was the senior vice president for operations for CPNJ, a nonprofit agency serving developmentally disabled children and adults. She also was the chief psychologist and director of training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center; assistant professor of psychiatry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; and assistant professor of psychology at Montclair State University, directing the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology for Spanish/English Bilinguals Concentration for part of her time. In addition to presentations and publications, Diaz-Martinez has served as a guest expert on the Telemundo network, discussing mental health topics impacting the Latino community.
