The New Jersey Medical School Office of Global Health and departments of Surgery and Emergency Medicine present a lunchtime event to showcase the research of students in the NJMS Distinction Program in Global Health. This event is part of the monthly Interdisciplinary Global Health Lecture Series.
Through this distinction program, which is designed as a supplement to the medical school curriculum, medical students pursue focused studies in service, global health, urban health, entrepreneurship, and innovation in medicine or medical education. They study the global burden of disease, explore potential roles as actors in international development, and consider the ethics of global health and impact effectiveness when designing their programs. Along the way, they receive support from NJMS faculty with expertise in global health.
Student presentations will include a brief introduction to frame research; methodology, data, and findings to date; and future steps.
