The Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey is hosting the 2024 Annual Cancer Health Equity Research Symposium.
This in-person event, to be held in New Brunswick on June 7, will gather scientists and community members to facilitate collaboration in cancer disparities research. The goals of this conference are to: (1) exchange knowledge regarding research and partnerships focused on cancer health inequities in the New Jersey catchment area; (2) stimulate discussion; and (3) foster collaborations and bi-directional communications between researchers and community members.
The event will include a series of flash talks highlighting basic/translational science and cancer disparities research being done at the Cancer Institute and other leading institutions throughout New Jersey, an interactive breakout session, and a keynote speaker.
From now until April 19, the event organizer is soliciting abstracts for a limited number of flash talks and a poster session. Projects should have a cancer health equity focus. Topics can include, but are not limited to, addressing health disparities through basic, clinical, and population science research. Submitting an abstract implies at least one of the authors will present their poster during the flash talk session. The top-rated trainee and/or student led abstracts that are selected by the CHECoE Conference abstract review committee will receive special recognition at the symposium.
For accepted abstracts, the poster submission deadline will be April 30. Additional information regarding poster size and formatting will be sent to those with accepted abstracts.

The conference is open to all interested faculty, postdocs, students and others at Rutgers and Princeton, and New Jersey community members. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required.
