Teri Lassiter
Teri E. Lassiter is an assistant dean and assistant professor at the School of Public Health. Her research interests include addressing substance misuse and related health disparities in Newark, New Jersey, as well as gun violence among African-American males in Newark.
As the assistant dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion, she works to ensure that the policies and curricula at the School of Public Health provide equitable opportunities for faculty, staff, and students, focusing on the need to include diversity in all aspects of the school’s educational programs, teaching efforts, and research endeavors. An assistant professor in the Department of Urban-Global Public Health, she teaches “Public Health and Health Disparities,” “Urban Public Health,” and “Social Determinants of Health.”
Lassiter received a PhD degree in urban health systems from the Rutgers School of Nursing and an MPH degree in urban health administration from the Rutgers School of Public Health.
