CRISPR Governance: Regulating the Power of Gene Editing

Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics is hosting a Science and Politics Workshop on the powers and limits of regulation of gene editing technology in light of politics, public safety, social values, and freedom of academic pursuit.

Speakers include Jonathan Moreno, the David and Lyn Silfen University Professor of Ethics at University of Pennsylvania; Patrick Hill, associate professor, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers; and Wise Young, the Richard H. Shindell Chair of Neuroscience at the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience, Rutgers.

The workshop will include an interactive exercise on gene drive technology. Lunch will follow, after 1 p.m.
