Nancy Pontes

Assistant Professor, School of Nursing–Camden

The overarching focus of Nancy Pontes’s research is to explore social determinants of health and well-being among youth and families. Her academic interests focus upon the improvement of population health cross-nationally.

She recently completed a narrative analysis of students’ web-based reflections of global health learning-abroad experiences in Guatemala. Currently, she is establishing a research project in the Republic of Cuba, with plans to expand to India, to study time famine (chronic perceived shortage of time) among mothers of preschool-aged children. Her national work with the Youth Risk Behavior Survey examines the trends and relationships among victimization, health behaviors, and well-being.
