Mark Einstein

Professor and Chair, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health, New Jersey Medical School
Assistant Dean, Clinical Research Unit, New Jersey Medical School

Mark Einstein is gynecologic oncologist. He oversees multiple National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trials in prevention and treatment of cervical cancer in Africa and Latin America, including Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Brazil.

He is working on integrating low-cost advanced technological solutions to low- and middle-resource settings for cervical cancer prevention. He is also studying effective treatments for women infected with HIV who have advanced cervical cancer, which is very common in low resource settings. Einstein oversees training of the clinical workforce in these countries.

In addition to “raising the bar” on treatment and prevention of cervical cancer, he works on global policies for prevention of cervical cancer through screening and vaccination. He is a consultant to the World Health Organization for the immunologic basis of HPV vaccination used by vaccine managers in low- and middle-income countries.
