Henry Raymond’s methodological areas are epidemiologic methods, sampling hard-to-reach populations, population size estimation, behavioral surveillance, public health triangulation, social epidemiology, and mixed-methods research. His content areas of interest are populations at high risk for HIV infection (including men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, transgender women, prisoners, migrant populations, and female sex workers), LGBT populations, HCV infection, health disparities, and social determinants of health.

Raymond has conducted HIV behavioral surveillance research in Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Brazil, Philippines, and China.
