Gwyneth Eliasson

Assistant Professor, Department of Health Behavior, Society, and Policy, School of Public Health

Gwyneth M. Eliasson, JD, MPH, is an assistant professor of health systems and policy in the Department of Health Behavior, Society, and Policy at the School of Public Health.

She received a JD degree from Brooklyn Law School and an MPH degree in health systems and policy from the Rutgers School of Public Health. As a social justice attorney, she advocated for immigrants and other low-income New Yorkers facing systemic health inequities at administrative proceedings and in federal courts.

After receiving her MPH degree, she managed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contracted projects with the Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and consulted for Rutgers Law School on grant-funded projects to develop a medical-legal partnership program in Camden. Her case study on medical-legal partnerships for older adults was published in Healthy Aging through the Social Determinants of Health (APHA Press, 2021).

Before joining the Rutgers School of Public Health faculty, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
