Ashley Grosso

Ashley Grosso’s research in sub-Saharan Africa with female sex workers and men who have sex with men is focused on the initiation of risk factors for HIV acquisition and transmission before the age of 18. In her prior role at the Center for Public Health and Human Rights at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, she was the research program manager for epidemiological studies conducted with these key populations in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Lesotho, Senegal, and Togo. She has published results of analyses of data collected from female sex workers and men who have sex with men in these countries as well as datasets from Botswana, Eswatini, the Gambia, Malawi, Nambia, and South Africa on topics including stigma, physical and sexual violence, migration, social capital, mental health, substance use, condom use, reproductive health, sexually transmitted infection testing, syphilis, and viral hepatitis.
