Dr. George Kritsotakis serves as an Associate Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Crete, Greece, and the Hellenic Open University specializing in Health Care Management, Public Health, and Social Epidemiology. With a strong commitment to academic mentorship and international partnerships, Kritsotakis has collaborated with institutions across the United States, Europe and Africa under the Erasmus+ framework. He played a pivotal role in organizing the inaugural International Week at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, fostering collaborations with African universities to address global challenges. Kritsotakis brings extensive expertise in interdisciplinary research and his work spans social determinants of health, alongside studies to enhance workplace environments in post-pandemic healthcare settings. Notably, he introduced the concept of professional discrimination based on the nursing profession in global literature. These efforts aim not only to improve health outcomes in underserved communities but also to elevate the professional quality of life and patient outcomes worldwide. A registered nurse, Kritsotakis holds a Master’s degree from the UCL Institute of Education, a Ph.D. from the University of Crete, and advanced training in Society and Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
